What you need:
- – Balloons
- – Food coloring
- – Freezing temps {or a freezer}
Instructions:
- Put a few drops of food coloring inside your balloon {mixing colors is fun too}, fill with water, tie water balloon and shake gently to mix the color(s).
- Place the balloons outside in freezing temperatures or in a freezer for around 12-24 hours to freeze.
- Use scissors to cut the top of the balloon off and simply peel the balloon off your beautiful ice ball.
Warning: Your fingers will turn the color of the ice ball when holding it. Black gloves or paper towels are recommended for transporting them around.

- – When I told Trisha from Mom Dot about this post she recommended adding Kool-aid instead of food coloring so the kids could lick the ice balls. That definitely sounds like a fun thing to do with ice balls in the summer!
